and we're back...

so i have been totally slacking on my blogging. it has been crazy busy around home ever since we got back and i havent quite returned to a normal sleep pattern. so still a bit jet lagged but working on it.
so this was the most crazy busy spring break ever, and quite honestly i could go for another break just to recoup. we spent easter on the great wall, our anniversary with the terra cotta solders, and boarded six different flights. China was amazing. it is unlike anything i have ever seen before. there are so many people, and the culture is very different than ours. we loaded up on our fare share of chinese food and shopped so much. im sad to say that the only words we came back with were "I dont understand" and "thats to expensive". both very good phrases to know in a place where you bargain the price of everything.
so on the last few days, i hardly took any pictures because we relaxed and shopped most of the day. so i think i will highlight the places we went as opposed to doing it day by day. lets see how it goes.
THE GREAT WALL:

a truly amazing sight. no picture will ever do this monument justice. as it winds along the tops and peaks of mountains for 4000 miles all the way to the western side of the country. built originally during the Qin Dynasty, and later rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty, which is what we see today. the chinese historic sights are a true showing of the power of the emperor. with such a large country with a huge population, they could order incredible things to be accomplished. this is just one example. we spent easter morning hiking along this amazing landmark for about a mile. we went out to a more remote spot that had less foot traffic and was more remote. from the highest point we went to, you could see it wind across the very tops of mountains and peaks and down to the lowest valleys, and right back up again. just in the little mile we walked, we went up and down so many times, crawled on all fours through one spot, and explore through several of their watch towers. truly spectacular.

So amazing! (loved the pics on facebook, too!) I like how you guys where in a spot without a ton of tourists. Those are the kind of spots we love, too. Not to mention I don't like getting strange people in my shots. he he
